Our Collective Strength

This year’s conference promises a truly collaborative experience! Together we will explore ways to strengthen the visibility, power, and impact of the non-profit sector in BC!

Learn effective ways to engage in collaboration with peers as leaders, discover informal and formal collaboration opportunities between non-profits, and understand the possibilities that come with more strategic integrations, such as mergers and amalgamations.

We have curated a range of inspiring speakers, dynamic panels and session topics that are most relevant to our work today and will set the stage for a brighter future.

Keynote Speaker: Bradley Daye

We are honoured to have Bradley Daye Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Placemaking 4G, as our Keynote Speaker joining us virtually to start off Day 1 of the conference. Knocking down silos and “uniting communities through building trust” is his purpose in life, which closely aligns with the businesses he manages. In his message “Cultivating Spaces of Belonging – Aligning the value ‘within’,” Bradley will share ways to foster thriving work environments that make employees feel celebrated and valued. In essence, a workplace where everyone wants to be every day, regardless of age, gender, race, experience, or title.

Virtual Conference Day (Day 1) will close with a panel discussion on “The Power of Data in the Non-Profit Sector in BC” where you will hear summary details from Vantage Point’s latest State of the Sector report to be released late May 2024 (read the past reports here). After a short presentation, our diverse panel of guests will reflect on the value of gathering crucial data and current gaps in data and priorities to address them. They will discuss barriers to equitable data collection and survey fatigue exploring sustainable alternatives to surveys for data collection, and other methods of enhancing equity and inclusivity in data collection.

At the Anvil Centre on Day 2, our opening panel “EDI Trends in the Sector” will bring forward a variety of perspectives and lived experiences to explore together how conversations in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) have evolved in the non-profit sector. Specifically, the panel will discuss how the sector has responded to calls for action, what needs to be done to continue to make necessary shifts toward a more equitable sector and will provide practical ideas for leaders to move EDI forward in meaningful ways.
We will close Day 2 with concurrent panels focused on strategies for stronger collaboration: “Mergers and Amalgamations” and “Practical Steps to Build Collaboration.”

We have so much more in store through our selection of workshop sessions presented by non-profit community leaders and plenty of collaboration and networking opportunities abound at our conference.

This conference will be one to inspire, inform, and connect our community and our work. We are excited to see what we will do together!
